Background: A Frenchman named Thierry Teyssier has created the world’s first wandering hotel. It’s not about the perfect stay, as much as it is about the perfect concept. The name – 700,000 heures- derives from the fact that the average person in the developed world, spends 700,000 hours on earth.
700,000 heures has taken Air B’nB one step further. It’s about renting buildings months at a time and creating experiences both within and outside the walls. To book an experience with 700,000 heures you can either become a member of the club or book through a travel agency. Most loyal members consider Thierry to be an important part of the whole experience, thus he is visiting every location and acts as a general manager and master of ceremonies, for the guests. He believes that a hotel doesn’t need to consist of a physical location with four walls, rooms and roof. It’s more about creating a full experience with location, food, entertainment, excursions and atmosphere.
