When travelling, people tend to become more relaxed and open-minded to new impressions. It’s almost like we’re leaving a part of ourselves at home behind locked doors, never to be seen again. Or, at least not until the vacation is over. When we travel we try not to focus on what we leave behind us for the moment. Things that sometimes can wear us out such as work, cooking, taking care of children a.s.o. don’t bother us when we’re away. We’re charging our batteries and push paus on reality for a while and we feel like everything is possible.

The feeling of being at ease is crucial. Sometimes we need to find a place where tomorrow doesn’t exist and worries never have been heard of. A place where one can feel totally in control, or not in control at all, depending on what we prefer.

Travel the distance or stay close to your home

When travelling, we don’t need to be far from home. For some people travelling can mean going to the family’s summer house on the countryside, for others it’s about sailing across the world. The definition of travelling comes down to each and everyone’s own opinions.

A term that have come to be very popular over the past years is “staycation”. It means that you don’t need to go somewhere in order to get your vacay-mode on, you can just stay in your own city and explore things you haven’t done before. Usually people who go on staycation prefer to stay at a hotel or going to a part of the town where they haven’t been before. Staycations are perfect when you feel that you don’t have the time to be gone a whole weekend, but you want to get away from your everyday life, if only for a short while.

When it comes to travelling, there are no rules. You can be as far away or as close to your home as you like. What’s important is that you sometimes take a break from your everyday life and reload your power to be able to live your life to the fullest. Because let’s be honest, travelling wouldn’t be as fun if we did it all the time.
