December has arrived and we can all feel the Christmas spirit in the air. But Christmas is not all about joy and cheerfulness. December is for many of us a time of stress, tight deadlines and sometimes even anxiety.
Silent Nights…or A Head Spinning All the Time?
It’s important to take care of yourself when the darkness falls upon us. You need to prioritize the must’s before the should’s and would’s. What is it that you really “must” do and what is it that you think is expected of you? These are two completely different things and in order for you to not be overwhelmed or even overrun by Christmas songs, the need of going shopping, making customers satisfied at work… ugh, even writing these examples is exhausting.
All I want for Christmas…is Peace of Mind
Instead of eating chocolates everyday in December, try to give yourself an advent calendar that makes you feel good. Join a yoga session everyday until Christmas eve, create a box with motivational quotes and read one out loud every morning or take a warm bath every night.Your well-being goes before anything else. Make sure that you can fully rest during the holidays and don’t try to just survive them.
Let’s begin counting down the days until Christmas!
